The boys are 14 months old today! Last year at this time, we had teeny tiny little 2 month olds, who slept through 4th of July July 2012. This year we have boys who are awake most of the day, and are screaming thrilled at the thought of going to 4th of July parade:
We went down the street to the annual 4th of July parade and the boys were in their 4th of July finery! They got to spend some holiday time with other triplet BFFs!
Harris is always clapping and happy little boy
Hey look! A rare sighting of me in a photo! Mike and I got decked out for the holiday too.
They got to try out some new outfits from their Aunt Jane:
Amelia was very excited for the holiday too and anticipated the need for multiple outfit changes for the various things we had planned for the day.
After the day at the pool, we went to Community park, met up with some friends and watched music and fireworks.
The boys continue to change and develop so quickly. We're trying to wean them off of so much milk (see prior post where I have been practically drowning them) and they are not fans of the process. They are getting to be pretty good eaters though and changing so much. Individual updates:
HARRIS
Harris - you've been walking for several months now and you are on the move. You want to run so badly, but you are so chubby that it keeps you off balance. You frequently knock your head on various pieces of furniture on your way, but you (after some loud cries and pouting) get back up again. You've taken to putting your hand over your mouth when you cry - very polite. You say "ball" approximately 4,000 times a day. You are obsessed with making baskets in your little basket ball hoop. You are recently on a nap strike and refuse to nap when everyone else does. We've quit forcing you and let you make your own schedule. You love to be outside and in the pool but your white skin is really getting the brunt of it - time for some swim shirts. You are my sweet, happy little boy. You love to laugh. Yesterday I brought you home from a birthday party and everyone in the room was laughing about something and you just started laughing too... you don't want to miss the fun.
ANTONIO
You're standing! On your own! You took 2 little steps this weekend! We have been so worried about your crazy first position legs and rotated hips, but this past 4 days, you've started balancing on your own and you LOVE it. You always were the one that wanted up up up, and now you can get a little more up on your own. You are my BEST eater - and the smallest now. You love to swim but would rather we didn't hold you in the pool - you just want to go. You steal toys from your brothers, and if you can't get them away from them, you cry SO LOUD as if they had stolen the toy from you. My cousin Patricia is here visiting and you love her the absolute most right now. She puts you to bed most nights. When she comes in the room, you crawl over to your box of books, find one of the books in Portuguese (how do you know??!!!) and hold it up to her for her to read to you. And she does. She has threatened to take you home with her - and I feel like if you could decide, you might go with her.
LAWRENCE
Lawrence, you're standing too now and taking 3 or 4 little steps too. You're getting better about not biting your brothers and you want to hug them all the time. It's always a gamble though "is he going in for a hug or a chomp?" You are such a hugger and you wrap your arms so tightly around our necks. We still have the speech therapist working with you to eat more things. This week you ate toast and a teeny little nibble of watermelon. You also have your eye surgery on Wednesday morning - boo! Am not looking forward to that. You are pointing at everything now and babbling - you want to tell us things so badly. I can't wait to be able to answer your questions. Or at least make a list of all your funny questions and mock you on the internet.
Last shots - How you take triplets to parks with only 2 swings - and my sweet boys again:
