Amelia's out of school and enjoying her "free time" golfing and tennis and going to summer camps. We don't have her schedule totally packed as she really does love having days off to be home and playing with the boys The boys are changing so much and their schedule is getting more defined. We had their 1 year appointment and the doctor asked "how much milk are you feeding them?" I said, "oh, about 35-40 ounces." She says - "well, between the 3 of them, that should be about right..." (pause...) I say, "oh no... that's how much I give them each." - no WONDER they're not hungry for food. Yeesh. I guess since these guys are already busting out of their 2T clothes its time for me to stop worrying about their weight gain and treating them like preemies.
New people still ask - how do you tell them apart? Really? Just a couple of seconds with these guys and you can see that personality and looks wise, they are different. Look at Harris and Lawrence below - they barely look like they belong in the same family, let alone from the same womb.
They really interact a lot now and love to be together. Here they are having a little picnic snack on the living room floor. (all prior rules out the window)
We have a room full of toys, but they all want the same one at the same time.
ANTONIO
Antonio - you are my smiley, giggly, happy little boy. You also have the ability to throw the biggest fits. You love to throw your head backwards or lay on your tummy fully banging hands and feet on the ground... look around to see if anyone notices, and if not... fit over. You love peek a boo, you are obsessed with bouncing Amelia's big princess ball, you prefer to play by yourself, and will often grab whatever toys you want and crawl into a corner to play with them alone thank you. This makes your brothers think you have something better, and they come up to play with you and you just keep spinning so that you can keep your back to them. This works until Lawrence bites you. You are not interested in walking, but want to be up high with people carrying you. And with your big charming smile, you usually get what you want. You eat anything and everything on your tray, and yet you have been surpassed by both of your brothers and are now the smallest. You say "mama" the most, but not much else.
You love the remote control.
You love to color!
HARRIS
Harris, you are my sweetheart, my cuddly, happy and cautious little boy. You have the biggest happiest smile when mommy or daddy come in the room, and if we don't come to you right away you sound as if your heart would break. You are SO talkative lately: when you color you say "dot dot dot", you say "together" when you play legos, you sign for "help" and "more", and you have some favorite animal noises, cow, pig and monkey. You walk non-stop. You've been walking for a couple months now and you are a champ. You haven't slimmed down though so it makes for the funniest little waddle. You're getting better at eating some different things and are being better about not just chipmunking all your food. You love the pool the best of all your brothers and would stay in there for hours if I let you - but your poor little fair skin can't take it! You love books and the peek a boo baby books and will read them, and bring the ones you want us to read to you. You like to try and read along out loud. This week you learned to climb. Up on the fireplace... sigh.
You fight your brother for the remote
You LOVE to color...
You do not love to be dressed up in a skirt by your sister.
You love books.
LAWRENCE
Oh Lawrence. You continue to be the one I know I'm going to have to watch out for. You bite your brothers intentionally all the time. And right after you do it - you wave your finger at me and say "no, no, no". You are learing to walk this week, and unlike Harris, who cautiously took one step and sat down for a month, you started standing one day and then immediately began to launch in whatever direction you wanted regardless of whether or not you can walk there. You stand, you start taking steps and hope that someone is there to catch you. My daredevil. You are as sweet as you are impulsive - you love to wrap your arms around anyone's neck (mine, your brother, visitors) in a TRUE hug and you say "ooopa" and pat them on the back while you hug them. Sometimes you snuggle your little head into the crook of my neck while you're hugging me. It's unbelievably sweet - until I realize you're just getting a better position to bite me.
You are a very serious color-er
You are happy eating just puffs and purees - anything else you dramatically gag.
You're the man!
