This past year really has been both a blink and a blur. I think back to those first few months and they seem worlds away - we've gotten past the roughest nights, we have interactive happy little boys. A recent bout of illness reminded us of those rough nights that hopefully we are mostly past... But all in all, we have a wonderful big sister, and 3 happy little one year olds. Here's their individual update. Reverse birth order this time:
LAWRENCE
Oh my little mini me - my active one - the one who hates to sleep. Lawrence does just fine on about a 30 minute nap in the middle of the day. Lawrence is so funny and interactive. He loves the finger guns, and whenever you say "who's the man?" he points and breaks out into a huge smile. He is an attention hog, and whenever someone new comes in the room, he starts calling to them, and is very unhappy if he is not the first picked up. He has the biggest lower lip sad face. He likes to chase his brothers around the room and giggles so loud. He is getting better eating different textures - we have gone through x-ray swallow studies and found nothing wrong, and later this month we'll be getting that clogged eye duct checked. He's had the most hospital visits poor little guy. Lawrence is my biter, my jumper, my try to kill himself by launching off of the couch boy. Lawrence is still the smallest at 27 lbs, but he's the tallest too.
He did not like the cake.
He was not sure about the girls....
You're the man!!!
HARRIS
Harris is my sweet little giant baby. He's 29 lbs and is just a little shorter than lawrence. He took 3 little steps yesterday all by himself and is the only one who can stand on his own. He has a raspy little voice and loves to babble and is the one who loves chasing his brothers around the couch the most. He wants to be chased too and will call out to his brothers to chase him. Harris is gentle and loves to see what his brothers and sister are doing. If everyone starts laughing, he laughs too because even if he doesn't know what's funny - he wants to be a part of it. He was not super sure about the cake -but was very excited to tell us that he was ONE!
He loves to clap!
He is also not too sure about those girls....
ANTONIO
Antonio is my little blue eyed boy. He looks the most like I remember Amelia looking like as a baby. He's the shortest, and after a bout of stomach flu is about 27 lbs. Antonio has the biggest Gerber baby smile, the biggest laugh - and a cry like a fire alarm. He lives big. He is the most easy going of all the boys. He eats everything, will play with almost any toy you give him and be the most content to hang out on his own. He recently has found that having a bit of a more dramatic response gets action from mom and dad too...
Antonio was a HUGE fan of the cake - he was the only one - but he made up for the others. He even stole Harris' birthday cake.
"I CANNOT GET ENOUGH CAKE IN MY MOUTH!"
"WHY DOES THIS PART OF THE CAKE TASTE LIKE PAPER?!!!"
"HOORAY! MESS!"
"all gone. sadness"
Antonio is not only a fan of the cake - but he's just fine with the ladies.
My happy laughing little boys:
Here is my video of the cake eating (well, only Antonio eating - everyone else looking...)
And our photographer Leslie Callan did a beautiful little video of the past year.
