Amelia woke up this morning and said "I feel so different. I feel like a big A instead of a little a." Oh 8 - I think you are going to be a lot of fun.
We worked really hard to make Amelia's birthday special - it's so hard when she's had to share this past year with the "three diablos" as she has taken to calling them. We had a wonderful ice skating birthday party (even mom got on the ice) and tonight we are taking her out to fancy grown up dinner. (oh shoot have to make the reservation!)
She got to wear free dress today for school.
She wanted to wear her fashionable new hat, but she didn't feel it went well with her leopard print.
She got to bring doughnuts to school for the treat.
She loved ice skating with her friends.
And even let her brothers tag along to her party.
Happy birthday to our one and only princess baby girl!
My sweet boys. I can't believe that 9 months ago, shockingly, exactly to the minute as I sit down to write this, I was getting ready to meet you. I can't believe I didn't know you and your sweet little personalities last year at this time.
Your dad and I are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. You are sleeping through the night almost every night. We are recovered from our international travels (yes, I know I haven't talked about Rio enough yet - but I think I still have PTSD that I'm not quite over yet...)
You're starting to laugh, clap, almost crawling, you all say "Da da" constantly but only Lawrence has taken the quite intelligent step of calling out "Ma ma" as he reached out to me the other night. You love to look at each other and talk to one another. Lawrence wants to bite everyone, Antonio wants to steal their toys, and Harris is starting to fight back.
Antonio - you are my big BIG laugher - you laugh loudly and often. You also cry the loudest. SO SO LOUD. You are the only one that likes his pacifier. You love to eat. You love books. You love to steal toys. You love you everyone pretty equally and don't play favorites. You have bright blue eyes and are my snuggly little gerber baby.
Harris - You are my sweetheart. You have a huge smile and are getting really chatty. You are ALMOST crawling. Almost! You like to scoot around backwards. You have huge eyes, and it sometimes gives you a little "baffled by life" look which is hilarious. You are the biggest boy at 26 lbs, and are starting to fight back when your brothers gang up on you.
Lawrence - you are my mini-me. You hate to sleep and don't want to miss a thing. You want to be moving, talking, grabbing, biting, jumping, hugging at all times. You like grandma better than anyone else. You definitely play favorites. We are pretty sure that you said "Ga Ga" when you saw her come in the room and you for sure said "mama" when I came in the room this week. You are definitely the little imitator. You still are known as "the vomiter" behind your back, but even that is getting much better!
The boys have had some great visitors this week. Harris got to go with Sandi and Blythe to Amelia's basketball game last weekend.
They all love books. For eating.
They like to go over to friends' houses for dinner.
They get very excited sitting in a circle and talking.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch... I almost have an EIGHT year old. I have no idea how this happened. Amelia is a fantastic big sister, but at the same time likes a little alone time too. We went for a girl's day in SF recently, and she loved going to all the stores and spending a girl's day.
Here are also some videos of the boys in their chat circle.
