Amelia was an early talker. She talked early, and often. If you are "new" to her, you might think she's not much of a talker because she get's initially very shy and will barely nod her head "yes" or "no." But get to know her and she can't be stopped. Her vocabulary is growing too, and she likes to pick the largest word for what she is discussing -- even if that word doesn't mean what she thinks it means.
I have tried to capture some of the best ones she's used lately.
And, as we've experience in the past, there is NO watching a movie quietly with her. Several weeks ago we watched Star Wars for the first time. She had seen snippets of these movies so was fairly familiar with the charaters. Yet... so many questions. I wrote them out on my phone so I wouldn't forget. I got tired halfway through so there are some holes....
Is this when Anniken is Darth Vader?
Can you read this beginning part to me?
I really don't want to read this beginning can you read it to me?
Are star wars on mars?
What is that silver c3po?
Maybe that's a girl
It looks like a girl
Why don't the transformers just step on the people?
Are those people dead?
So, that Darth Vader is Anniken?
There is the princess!
Princess leah is cute
There are a lot of dead people already for a kids movie.
Where are they landing?
How come Darth Vader doesn't remember she is his daughter?
How can c3po understand what R2d2 is saying?
What is he thinking?
Why are they splitting up?
Why is c3po not going with r2d2?
Why doesnt he want him to find him?
What is that thing?
Why doesn't he just go over there?
Who is that?
What is that thing with the red eyes?
Are those kids? Kid dwarfs?
Why are they taking R2d2?
What are they doing to him?
Is that Wall-e!
How come all the droids are coming alive?
Is c3po in there too?
Why do they collect droids?
Ewww lizards, they are riding lizards!
What are they making r2d2 and c3po do?
Luke skywalker!
Tolpoli burgers? (no honey, power converters)
Why are there two suns?
....
Can chewbakas speak English?
How old is chewbakas?
He looks 39 to me.
Whoa where are they?
What's light speed?
I wish I had a chewbaka as a pet ...

The boys went for their 6 month appointment and shots today. They continue to surpass expectations. Here's the latest stats: Reverse birth order today.
LAWRENCE: He is 20 lb 11 oz and is 27 inches long. He is our teeny one - at only the 91st percentile.
HARRIS: 22lb 7 oz, 27 1/2 inches long. Harris is the biggest at well over the 100th percentile. Here he is wearing a shirt that used to be Amelia's when she was almost TWO. YEARS. OLD.
Harris getting smooshy kisses from his sister - smooshy kisses likely the cause of his ear infection.
ANTONIO: Antonio is also at the 100th percentile at 22 lbs and 27 inches long. Here he is wearing a shirt that Amelia wore when she was THREE. YEARS OLD. Granted - it was a little tighter on her, but ... still.
Antonio really prefers to feed himself with the spoon.
The boys all continue to do well - we had a bout of chest colds and earaches this week. They are sleeping better and generally pretty happy during the day as well. Here's a few more photos from the past weeks.
Antonio and Mike at our Halloween party with friends.
Practicing sitting up. Lawrence remains the floppiest.

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays. Every year we have a huge party at our house, and having triplets was not going to stop us this year. We were so lucky to have so much family and friends come into town to help hold babies during the party (THANKS JEFF AND KAREN!) so that we could spend time with Amelia, her friends and their families.
Amelia picked out our costumes.
I didn't know what to do for entertainment at the party -- last year we had a magician. This year I bought a crapload of hula-hoops and basically prayed for the best. Amelia made a "mix tape" of all her favorite dance and Halloween music. She spent weeks creating a list of her favorite songs. Girl takes party planning seriously, y'all.
There was a lot of hula hooping, and a dance party.
My mom's school has a scarecrow contest every year and this year they made a scarecrow group of my mom, Amelia and the three boys. Little creepy to see my scarecrow babies, but Amelia and I stopped at the school on the way to her school carnival that day.
Amelia's school has a massive carnival every year - there are so many fun booths and games and all the kids and a lot of the parents dress up. Here is Amelia with some of her friends at the carnival.
After the halloween party, we went trick or treating downtown Davis with a massive group from school. It was fun to go with her friends, and we got a lot of the trick or treating out of her system. That night we went to our friends' house (HI MARTE & KRISTEN!) and went trick or treating with them.
Actually, Marte and Mike took the kids trick or treating, and Kristen and I stayed home with the boys and tried to keep them happy and in their costumes while we handed out candy. Here are all our kids together -- getting this photo was no small feat.
And here's the boys in their pumpkin costumes one more time because the cuteness cannot be denied.
What can also not be denied is their mood. Which deteriorated from cranky slightly tired to full on meltdown. You can see it starting with Harris in the middle, right? First you think, is he just upset that his pants don't match the other two? No, Harris deteriorated, followed closely by Antonio into full on scream mode. Lawrence - bless his heart - fell asleep.
I have been accused of presenting an all hearts and flowers image of having triplets - so - let me tell you... it was rough. All four kids crying. All four you ask? You only have triplets? Well - we have a 7 year old that bursts into tears when her brothers are crying. So - that was great. Luckily we had brought two cars to Marte & Kristen's house, so Amelia got to go home with Mike and I got to go home with the 2 screaming babies and 1 sleeping baby praying that the 2 didn't wake up the 1. They did fall asleep within 3 minutes. .... UNTIL we got home - when all hell broke loose again. So, no rainbows and puppies that night I tell you. I've got a reality post in the works for you all, so this is just a teaser.
But then you see a little photo like this, and you forget it all, right? It goes so fast - this seems like it was ages ago - and yet it was just a few months. The good and the bad - I try to savor it all.

When we first found out we were having triplets, we were all pretty nervous that we would mix them up. Can you imagine, Antonio living his entire life when he was actually Harris? Unthinkable. When they were born, I could easily see the difference between Harris and the other two boys. Harris was so fair, and had these huge lips. I was worried about Antonio and Lawrence though, and when Lawrence came home to join Antonio, I painted his toenails blue so that we wouldn't mix him up.
As they've gotten older, the differences are much more obvious. They look very different from one another, and they each have their own personalities. Last night we had some friends come and help babysit the boys while Mike and I went to the Kings game, and Amelia made a little "cheat sheet" for them so that they could tell which boy was which.
So cute.
Because I never want to forget - here are some more differences:
Antonio:
Harris:
Lawrence:
Can't wait to see how these differences keep appearing.
