Olympic Spirit

I tried to stay up with Amelia last night to watch the women's skating, but because they were so spread out we only saw two before we fell asleep.  But, I did capture some of her choice color commentary over the evening:

• She doesn't even get dizzy??
• Someday she might get on Disney on ice!
• If I skated I would only wear purple.
• Why did that girl fall? That was a bad idea.
• Why does Australia go first?  Is it alphabetical order?
• Why is it sledding now?  I choose the skating to win.
• Why is it still sledding?  Why is it called Bobsledding?  What's a bob? 
• Oooh... that boy is a good driver.  (me:  It's a girl honey  her:  why does she look like a boy?)
• Ooh good its skating again!
• Why is she wearing red?  I like the purple girl.
• I am NOT GOING TO WATCH ANYONE WEARING RED (exhaustion setting in)
• zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Amelia's Birthday Gift to Uncle Jeff

She wrote a book.  She wanted to write "Cinderella" but I told her she should write something more approprite for my brother.  So, she came up with:

Stinkerella: What's That Smell

Once there was a smell.  It was Stinkerella.

The smell made the kids sick

They coughed a lot so they had (love the dramatic pause between pages)

To get medicine.  Ba saved them because they all

File night night. (her bear... the hero of most books)

No more TV with commercials

I try so hard not to let Amelia watch very much TV.  If she does, I try to make sure she isn't watching any TV with commercials... I think she may have caught some, and is confused about what they are selling.

A: mommy, are you allergic to cats?

Me: yes

A: Why?

Me: I'm allergic to what's under their nails

A: Why?

Me: They have something under their nails that when it scratches me, makes me sick.

A: They don't scratch their parents

Me: Actually honey, I used to have one when I was little, and she scratched me

A: You didn't have a family? You only had a cat?

Me: no honey, I had a family, I had grandma and grandpa tom. And a cat. And it scratched me.

A: Oh. Did you get sick?

Me: Yes, I got sick.

A: Did you put Activia on your sickness?

Me: *

A: Or did you put Advair on it? 

Me: (whaa?)

Brazilian Pride

I love these so much but I would worry about getting them muddy.  Maybe I should get them just in honor of World Cup and Olympics this decade...
