Amelia is proudly dressing herself every morning. As many know, she takes great pride in laying out her clothes every morning to wear the next day. Such as these two options from last week:
Because she takes such great pride in dressing herself, she clearly does not want anyone questioning her outfits. Take today for example. She gets to school and her little friend Amelie comes up to her and the following conversation ensues:
Amelie: Look Amelia! We both have on dresses!
Amelia: Yes! Well, I have on a dress. You have on a skirt!
Amelie: Yes - but we both have on tights!
Amelia: No - these are stockings.
Amelie: No - these are tights.
Amelia: No - these are stockings.
Amelie: No - these are tights. (walks over to me) Amelia's mommy??? Amelia says these are stockings, but they are tights.
Me: Well, you can call them stockings or tights. It's two different words for the same thing. See? Stockings and tights.
Amelia: See. I'm Right.
Me: Um, no, honey. You're both right. Both words are ok.
Amelie: (happily dancing) See, Amelia? We're both right!
Amelia: Well, I'm mostly right.
Me: Honey - you're not more right. You're both right.
Amelia: (Clearly not accepting this "shared correctness" and looking for a way to win.) - Well, "stockings" comes first in the alphabet.
.... Me: (oh. my. gaw. - I have no idea where she gets this....)
