My Dancing Queen

Most evenings either before dinner or after, we have a little dancing time.  Usually in the kitchen while we're setting dinner or cleaning up.  Amelia loves dancing.  She tries to choreograph little dances to the music.  I think I must have been about 3 when I started little dance classes (and I think we can all agree my grace and dance moves are the stuff of dreams)...  I think we'll start in January for her.  Until then, we present.  Kitchen dancing.

Same Same!

Amelia gets very excited when she finds two things that are the same - and she runs up and points them out shouting "Same Same!!"  She'll be reading her book about a cup of milk and she looks at her milk and a huge smile comes over her face... "Same Same Milk Mommy!!!"  She'll see Dora on her shoe and she'll grab her Dora doll "Same Same Mommy!!!"

I could not have been more proud, or believed more in the power of my genes as when we went to Back to School Night at Montessori and Amelia and her BFF Julia were wearing the same shoes.  Amelia shouted "Same Same Shoes!!! Take a picture!!!"

I'm so happy about this little friendship with Julia at school.  It makes it so much easier when I see the smile on her face as I leave the school and she's running up to Julia.  Yesterday Amelia missed school as she was home with a little cold.  One of the teachers said that Julia asked for Amelia all day long.  By the end of the day they said Julia was saying "Amelia's sick.  That's OK.  I'll have a friend tomorrow when she's back."  (Awwwww!)
