Bells were clearly ringing loudly and often during my two weeks in Rio. Amelia left with at least 10 pairs of sandals, and I had similar success. I don't want to overwhelm you, so I won't bore you with all of them now. They will be displayed soon. They are mostly summer wear.
These were the first pair purchased.
We returned on Wednesday from Rio and are still unpacking. The weather here's ok here in Sacramento, but we are really missing this right now.
At the same time we are re-packing to go to Lake Tahoe for the New Year's weekend. From 100 degrees to 10 degrees in a week. What were we thinking?!!?
We had a wonderful visit in Rio, but even after my 30+ years, and having spent numerous holidays in Rio, it really doesn't feel quite Christmass-ey (is this a word?) in a halter dress with a sunburn. I guess that's the final last bit of my Brazillian-ness (is this a word either?) that I've lost. I actually miss the turtlenecks and windy cold Christmas weather. So, we're off to appease my New Yorker husband, and head for the snow. It will be Amelia's first snow. Pictures to follow... naturally.
So, we have traveled 20 hours, and been in Rio a week. Today it was 104 degrees. Amelia is loving it - she´s in the pool almost all day long. We came here for my cousin´s wedding. I´m including two of my favorite things about the wedding. Amelia, in her cute little dress, and a video of the best dancer I´ve ever seen at a wedding. We're off to Rio for a few weeks - my travelling shoes are so terribly boring, I refuse to subject you to them on this site. I leave you with a video of Amelia and her friend Elise dancing up a storm at the sushi restaraunt the other night. I promise to post during our vacation.

You can't quite hear her, but she keeps saying "pretty shoes pretty shoes".... Please ignore the mess all over the house. In fact, I have no idea where this video was taken. My house is much much cleaner than this.

But here's the piggy tails. She has been bald bald bald for so long. That it is so fun in the last few weeks that her hair has had a little growth spurt to put her in these teensy little pony-tails!
Finally we can go out without "what's his name?" being asked every few minutes.
So - That's the pigtail part.
I had work in San Francisco. Beautiful sunny day in SF. Actually even a little warmer than here in Sacramento. But, we were there for such a quick turnaround work visit, that I didn't get to enjoy it. SF had lots of Christmas lights up and it was beautiful. And the stores were beckoning to me... Oh well. I need to save up all my shopping for our trip to Rio in ONE WEEK!
By the way - I wore these boots to the right for my SF trip.

Guest Shoes this week - Mike's.
I had to work today - Sunday - blah. So, Mike's shoes will guest star today. They are running around after Amelia shoes.
These shoes had a good day. They took Amelia to the park. They sent pictures to me via cell phone. His pictures are much less fuzzy and made me miss Amelia lots.
So, I left work early, and got home in time to play.
When I got home, Mike was very very tired (that's why his shoes had to kick back in front of the fire at the end of the day).
Can you imagine this little person tiring you out?
Oh yeah - that innocent look is a wonderful act. She's just waiting for her moment when she will take over. I have no idea where she gets it.
